Hi All,

Today I would like to share with you some gorgeous layouts in the gallery this week.

"SYTYCD" by wtunison

Don't you just love the way she used the word-art for the title and as part of the journal. The creamy black and white photos and her choice of background match perfectly. The colorful small clusters also make the photos stand out.

"Sweet Messy Kiss" by wtunison

I love how she used the small stitches here and repeatedly used them to fasten papers and photos. Those small photos help tell the story and add the actions. The clustering and title work is simply beautiful.

This is the kit that Wendy used to create both the layouts above. A Day in the Life is certainly one of my favorite kits. I love the elements, papers, and colors. It's such a versatile layout for scrapping almost every kind of theme.

Scraps of Ellay has released a new Father's Day kit titled Sting Like a Bee. It's a really cute and original kit that's perfect for scrapping father-theme, or those injuries you get from your angel-turn-devil. I've experienced several poke in the eye, chin bumped with her head, and it does really hurt sometimes. Of course, I never thought of taking photos of those injuries before until I saw this kit. So next time I will preserve that hardship of being parents. Don't worry if you don't have injuries related photo, the kit is still versatile enough for different kind of layouts. If you haven't checked out the Scraps of Ellay Gallery lately, you're really missing out on some beautiful layouts! There are so many beautiful layouts to chose from that I had a hard time picking just a couple to highlight today. I managed to narrow my picks down to two, but it wasn't easy!

The first one I want to share with you is by Purplesparkly and uses the Paree Kit. Check out this beautiful layout...

Don't you just love how she has clustered her elements and photos?

The best thing about the Paree kit is that it's perfect for so many different layouts! With 20 papers, 47 elements and a full alpha you won't run out of ideas any time soon!

This next layout is by our very own Katifer and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. This layout was made using the Life Happens Collab Kit.

That background paper is perfect for that adorable photo and the clustering around the journaling is awesome!

Today is Gallery Spotlight day and I found a really cute layout to show you! (There are a TON of them in the Scraps of Ellay gallery and it was a really hard decision!) It’s a layout using one of the cutest love kits released this Valentine’s season (imo!).

And the spotlight is on……..chaoticlilshadow with her layout “WuvU!”

I love all of the layering and the super cute pic and title! She did it for the template challenge over at STS, but it’s such a cute layout, I almost couldn’t tell!

Welcome to another Friday Rewind here at Stars of Ellay. For those of you who may be new visitors to Scraps of Ellay’s CT Blog let me introduce you to what Friday Rewind is all about.

On Friday Rewind posts one of Ellay’s fabulous CT’s picks a kit that has been in the store for a little while and shares a freebie with you from that kit. This all came about when Ellay and I were talking about how we sometimes forget about treasures in our scrapping stash or like … okay LOVE a kit when we see it but at the time don’t think we have photos or a story to go along with it so we don’t buy that kit at the time. Then later we can’t remember where that treasure (aka perfect kit) was when we have photos to go with it.

Maybe this will bring one of those treasures or “That kit is perfect for……” moments to you!

For those of you who have followed Scraps of Ellay for a while you might remember that Lori did a kit in honor of this adorable little boy she keeps called “Thompson’s Room.” Not to seem biased she wanted to do a little girl’s kit to compliment that kit. I was so honored when she asked me to help pick out the swatch and then she named the kit after my little girl Rachel. AWWWWW …. Thank Lori!!! You are the best boss ever!! So I wanted to share with all of you a QP I made using Rachel’s Room which you can find @ Scraps of Ellay’s STS store. I wanted to talk about another one of Ellay's kits that will be retiring at the end of the month called Fall Softly Snow. It is one of the first few layout's I worked on for Ellay. But I really just loved the softness, and peacefulness of the kit. If you have never been in snow and had an opportunity to drive somewhere that there are very few people on the road, it to me is very peaceful and quiet and comforting to me. So that is why I love this kit. That is how it makes me feel.

So I created a very "cool" cluster frame for you. I hope you can use it and enjoy it. Here is a reminder of what the kit looked like also:

I know this kit just barely came out, but it is my favorite. First off I have loved frogs for as longs as i can remember, and second well, it is just so dang cute!!!

Purrrfect Princess

Scraps of Ellay teamed up with me, Katifer of Always Be Neighbors Designs, to bring you a fun princess kit with a twist. The original idea came from a friend who buys a lot of Marie stuff for her daughter, you know, the cat from Aristocats? And all daughters are little princesses, so we put the two themes together to bring you “Purrrfect Princess!” The colors are perfect for any disney princess and there is plenty of kit to satisfy you! Hello everyone! I fell in love with this kit when Ellay showed it to us. Since it was Mother's Day a couple of weeks ago, I made my mother a brag book. I decided to change it up alittle bit and share it with all of you.

I had to change it alittle bit, so my mom's was unique.

The Joy, a fantastic kit for scrapping all the "joyous" mother's moments! It's the perfect Mother's Day kit, but of course, it's versatile enough to scrap most anything! It has 16 papers, 47 unique elements, and one full alpha!!

Just so you remember the kit, here is what it looks like. You can pick it up at the Stuff To Scrap store, if you don't already have it.

Here is the preview of the Brag Book. You will have to grab the kit and make a front and back page for you book, but here is a start for you. I hope you can use it and enjoy it.

I did the download in two parts so it would go faster.

This week I would like to highlight Ellay’s kit Three R’s. I just love the concept and I think she did a GREAT job with the kit! So, I combed through the Scraps of Ellay gallery over at STS and found a couple more fabulous layouts made using this kit!
This first one is by Kimmie and I just love the layering and the picture is gorgeous!

And this one is by our awesome CT member Ginger. I think the whole slanted look is just fabulous! Not to mention the picture is very pretty and I love the glitter frame!

Challenge Time!

OK, who is ready for a new challenge and a chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate to the Scraps of Ellay store?

For this challenge you get to use any Scraps of Ellay kit to make a layout about your mother in honor of Mother's Day. You can use current pictures, pictures from when she was a child, your favorite picture, a picture of the two of you together. The possibilities are endless!

Just make your layout using any kit by Scraps of Ellay, post it in the Scraps of Ellay Gallery at Stuff to Scrap then come back here and leave link to your layout in the comment section of this post.

Here's the tricky part---this challenge is going to be short and sweet! Since Sunday is Mother's day, I'll be announcing the winner of the $5.00 gift card that morning. So, make sure you have your layout and comment posted by midnight Saturday.

Here's a layout I made using one of my favorite pictures of my mother. I was just a kid when this was taken about a year before my father passed away. We were at a party celebrating my grandparents wedding anniversary. I remember how fun it was to see everyone all dressed up and happy. I also remember thinking about how pretty my mom looked that day.

I used a kit called The Joy to make my layout. This kit is going to be released on Mother's Day and it's going to be a freebie!

I can wait to see your layouts!
